MetaMask is a popular browser extension that allows users to interact with the Ethereum blockchain and manage their digital assets. It is easy to use and supports multiple networks, including the Polygon network. Here’s how you can configure the Polygon network on your MetaMask wallet:
1. Install MetaMask
If you haven’t already, install MetaMask by visiting the MetaMask website and clicking on the “Get MetaMask” button. Follow the prompts to install the extension on your preferred browser.
2. Create a Wallet
Once you have installed MetaMask, you will need to create a wallet. Click on the MetaMask icon in your browser, and follow the prompts to create a new wallet.
Make sure to write down your recovery seed phrase and store it in a safe place.

3. Connect to the Polygon Network
In the MetaMask window, click on the drop-down list of networks in the upper right corner. In the list of networks, select “add a network”.
A new window will open, you will have to choose to add the Polygon network.
Once the network is selected, you will have to approve it.
You should now see the Polygon network in the drop-down list of networks. Select it to connect to the Polygon network.
4. Connect to the Polygon Network on your phone
First, visit the App Store or Google Play Store and search for “MetaMask.” Select the official MetaMask app and install it on your phone.
Once you have installed MetaMask, open the app and follow the prompts to create a new wallet. Make sure to write down your recovery seed phrase and store it in a safe place.
In the MetaMask app, tap on the chain menu in the top, then select:
In the “Networks” tab, tap on the “Add Network” button.
In the “New Network” screen, add the following information:
- Network Name: “Polygon”
Then tap the “Save” button to add the Polygon network.
5. Add Polygon-compatible Tokens
MetaMask does not automatically support all tokens on the Polygon network. To be able to see and manage your Polygon-compatible tokens in MetaMask, you will need to add them manually.
To add a token, click on the “Assets” tab in the MetaMask window and then click on the “Add Token” button.
In the “Custom Token” tab, enter the contract address, token symbol, and decimal places for the token you want to add. You can find this information on the token’s website or by searching for it on a blockchain explorer like Matic Explorer.
Click the “Next” button, and then click the “Add Tokens” button to complete the process. The token should now be visible in your MetaMask wallet.
